LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STAFF/STUDENTS/CLASSES
Farm to School BC Conference for Teachers and Students – age 13 to 18 | May 19, 2023 | Register | More info
A select number of Youth Engagement bursaries are being offered to teacher chaperones and youth as an opportunity to join this conference being held at the UBC Nest in Vancouver! The bursaries will cover the cost of a one-day ticket for a minimum of 2 or a maximum of 4 students as well as 1 teacher’s release time plus a one-day ticket.
Currently they are looking for youth to create and present a poster or table presentation that highlights the success of their school food programs during the lunch Poster and Exhibition session on the same day. We greatly encourage teachers to involve 2 – 4 youths between the ages of 13 and 18 in the presentation of the poster at the conference. Presentations should capture the delegates’ attention and tell their story! That story should be a compelling graphic presentation of their program, project, research, or another related topic. The poster or tabling presentation that shows the most promise, effort, and innovation will win a whopping $1,000 to put towards growing and developing your school program!
There are two options for Teachers to present with their students:
Option #1: Poster Presentation
Posters should be no larger than 36” by 48” and clearly illustrate information about your project or program through a combination of eye-catching graphs, photos, diagrams, pictures, drawings, and text.
Option #2: Table Presentation
Utilize a 6-foot-long table in our poster / exhibition room, in which you can showcase pictures, plants you have grown, seeds, recipes, or other materials you’d like to share or display. This space should be interactive with the delegates! Highlight your school’s program or share knowledge related to a food systems topic you’re passionate about such as bees, seed saving, the history of different foods or more!

Transition from myBlueprint: All About Me to Spaces | September 19 & 26, 2023
myBlueprint All About Me is being replaced by myBlueprint’s new product: Spaces EDU. As of September 1, all student work from All About Me will be transferred to their Spaces account in the All Work Feed and students (and teachers) will no longer be able to log into All About Me.
There will be training sessions offered in September to help ensure a seamless transition: Tuesday, September 19 (in person) and 26 (virtual) so save the dates. All previous student data will be archived and accessible and we will walk you through the transition process.
