Learn how to use the Spaces EDU program effectively in your classroom as a portfolio tool. There will be a tool tour by the Spaces Team, a Q&A with the Spaces Team, and on-site problem solving. Immersive Historic Mystery Workshop Experience | Currently accepting bookings | More info
Live History is a unique theatre company that presents interactive site specific historical productions with a mystery element. They tour museums and historic venues across the world, presenting experiences that are customized to the local history, with audiences interacting to unravel clues. They are currently accepting bookings for the 2024/2025 season. The workshops and experiences are available in French or English.
Their workshops cover a wide range of topics, integrating with the curriculum and are meant to engage students on an individual basis with hands-on activities. Lessons can be customized for students from age 4-18. These workshops can be done on the virtual platform or in person during tours through the area.

Langley Schools Entrepreneur and Innovation Project
Instructional Services has created a new Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program for elementary and middle school teachers that is directly aligned with the BC Curriculum and our district’s I.D.E.A. Summit Program. This new resource will be arriving in schools shortly for teacher use. This is the only Entrepreneurship Program that is now approved for use in Langley Schools. Power Play is no longer a district approved and supported program as it does not align with the BC Curriculum.

Do you have more than 5 years teaching experience? Do you love to help others grow and learn? The Teacher Mentorship Program needs you!
The mentorship program is looking for mentors! A mentor is a teacher with more than 5 years of classroom experience who understands the needs and challenges of the early career teacher, a reflective practitioner who analyzes his own teaching, someone who is involved in ongoing personal and professional development, and a collaborative educator with strong interpersonal skills willing to provide professional guidance to a colleague.
We have a number of early career teachers looking for a mentor.  We need mentors at all grade levels and especially primary (K-5) and middle school (6-8).

This Weeks Artificial Intelligence terms:

  • Chatbot: a program that can simulate conversations with human users through text or voice commands. Chatbots can understand and generate human-like responses, making them a powerful tool for customer service applications.
  • Data Mining:  the process of acquiring valuable knowledge by using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to identify patterns, relationships, and trends in data to improve decision-making.
  • Deep learning: a branch of AI that uses artificial neural networks with multiple layers to learn from vast amounts of data. It enables machines to perform complex tasks, such as natural language processing, image, and speech recognition.
